These sunday school lessons are based on the passage in john 14 where jesus promised a comforter he would send to his disciples, namely the holy spirit. “when the advocate comes, whom i will send to you from the father—the spirit. Are you ready for another bible lesson?

However, in the one passage where it is translated “advocate,” it refers to jesus as our advocate with the father. In these verses, the holy spirit is referred to as the comforter, advocate, helper, or counselor depending on the bible translation you are reading. The helper, the comforter, the advocate, the friend, the one who is coming to stand beside you.

The Word “Comforter” Means “One To Run To Our Side And Pick Us Up.”.


When translated “helper” or “comforter,” it refers to the holy spirit. The holy spirit is our comforter. The point is, god’s comfort is found in relationship.

Jesus Was The One Who Ran To Our Side;
